WORKSHOPS
Account Executives will conduct group worksite workshops. Each workshop is
about one hour long and is designed to educate you on the need to invest for
your retirement, how much to invest, and how to use the asset allocation tool to
help target the right investment options for you.
- Invest in Your Future with Deferred Compensation
- This course material is designed for workshops, small group interactions and
one-on-one sessions. It has been developed to help reach the eligible
employee audience and empower them to take action to join the 457 deferred
compensation plan.
- Closing Your Retirement Gap - This 15-minute
course helps a participant identify how much they will need for retirement
versus how much they likely will have available based on their current status.
It is designed to encourage current participants to increase deferrals or
redesign their investment plan to reach their retirement income goals.
- Managing Risk - Explaining the power of
diversification to help manage risk is important to enable participants to be
successful investors. This 20-minute course is designed to address this topic.
Participants are shown how to help manage risk through various ways such as
dollar cost averaging and diversification.
- How to Use Asset Allocation - Asset allocation
helps participants understand portfolio management. It uses the asset
allocation tool developed by Ibbotson Associates, a leader in asset
allocation, to help participants identify their investment strategy.
- Investment Option Basics - This 20-minute course is designed to help
participants know the difference between cash, bonds, stocks and fund
investment styles so they can make more informed investment allocation
decisions.
- Digging Up Dollars; Create a Spending Plan –
This workshop is one of two workshops focused on developing a budget. It
assists participants in recognizing where their money is spent, how to
prioritize spending, and how to create a plan for managing a budget. The
workshop demonstrates how to set achievable goals for retirement savings.
- Digging Up Dollars; Reducing Debt – This
workshop helps participants understand the true cost of debt. It helps
participants prioritize debt while creating a plan to reduce both existing and
future debt payments. Following a debt reduction plan will eventually allow
savings contributions to replace debt spending.
- Approaching Retirement - Participants need just
as much help understanding how to set up a retirement income stream as they do
in establishing an investment plan. This course is designed to meet this need.
The choices available to participants as well as the process to initiate a
payment from their account are discussed.
