Your Award Winning Program
Your Ohio Deferred Compensation Program hasn’t won a Nobel
Prize or Grammy award, but we are very proud of these recent accomplishments:
_
In November, the Program was notified that its 2006 Comprehensive Annual
Financial Report (CAFR) received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. This
award is an indication of the Program’s commitment to excellence, compliance,
and trustworthiness.
_
In March, Auditor of State Mary Taylor presented the Program with the “Making
Your Tax Dollars Count” award. To be eligible, the Program had to complete and
submit a CAFR, have no findings or issues in the audit report, and have no other
financial concerns. Fewer than five percent of all Ohio government agencies are
eligible for this award.
_
In June, the Government Finance Officers Association presented the Program with
its 2008 Award for Excellence in Government Finance for implementing an Internet
application with the Ohio Business Gateway that allows employers to quickly and
accurately send deferral data and funds to the Program in a secure, electronic
environment. The Ohio Business Gateway is a collaborative initiative of state
and local government agencies. The Program was able to use this existing
structure to customize a lower-costing application for the employers to use.
